Guys, Alabama basketball has broken my spirit this year. I know this is shitty, but I'm just ready for the season to be over.

Heh. I'm still looking forward to both of the regular season games and the SEC Tourney. A strong finish and winning a game or two in the NCAAT is very much a successful season.

Finishing this year will go a long way into preparing for next year.

If I felt like we would win two more games, make the tourney and not embarrass ourselves there, I’d consider it a successful season too. But right now I have no confidence that we can do any of the above.

That's like saying Jeremy Johnson was a pretty good QB because he wasn't Keihl Frazier

Bracketology is a world full of Keihl Fraziers though, so Joe "Jeremy Johnson" Lunardi looks pretty good.

He can be irritating at times but lunardi is good at what he does...He misses on like 1 team a year so he's not exactly inept. Palm on the other hand is garbage

Gotta be fishy when a guy from a midmajor background is beating out blue bloods for players

Not sure he was beating out blue bloods as much as taking guys who were beating their girlfriends

One 5* supposedly had a domestic violence/sex assault case against him that is swept under the rug

The Oregon transfer was a title 9 outcast

Then Reids sister or something goes to LSU

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they are paying the kids. Just don't think it was Ole Miss die wtf cheating

He did have an in with Reid due to the gf being at LSU. Smart is a hometown kid. Days and Emmitt Williams could be the source of scrutiny

I mostly just find the hypocrisy amusing. Because if we had just signed the same class they did, the conspiracy theory mill down on the bayou would be running at full capacity.

I'm with you.

I mean when guys are going for $100k and previously not being caught/low risk, are we really going to believe that a coach's whispering of sweet nothings can overcome that?

Just for fun or discussion, I ran across this that Cecil Hurt retweeted yesterday. It made me think of the old Little Texas song "What Might Have Been"

Definitely something to ponder, my inclination is Byrne gives Avery 2 years to show progression. I say 2 because of the 2019 class and the fact we ll have veterans and youth. I caught myself worrying about losing Watford and Lewis if Byrne cut Avery loose hypothetically, thinking if that happened that they would head out of state to blueblood programs. That hurt us during the grant era and I don't wanna repeat that. I honestly believe Watford will come due to being like family with Jones and Lewis has well documented Bama bloodlines. My instinct is that we re close and Avery can get us there but we need to make the dance.
