Gene, what was the controversial call?
I didn't watch, but reading context clues it looks like they called Auburn for a blocking foul on a late A&M drive. Some are saying it was a late whistle after the shot was missed. I guess AU was up 1 when it happened, and A&M hit both free throws leaving 3 seconds on the clock.
Given college basketball officiating, I absolutely believe it was a bad call.

Defend home turf and we land at 19 wins.

I thought it was the correct call, the AU player was there and set in time but his foot was in the restricted area

I wonder how big of an issue it is for Aub that Person is not taking a plea deal? Gene seemed pretty sure he would.

It was, I'm pretty sure. I think AU fans (Bramblett included) were pissed off because they expected the ref to swallow his whistle for a call like that in an end of the game situation

That would make sense then, because I also read they went to review. I didn't watch the game, so not sure.

It was the correct call. The foot was clearly on the line. Normally, I like it when the refs let them play a little late, but they had to call it because he was setting up for a charge and bodies hit the floor. You shouldn't set up for a charge late in the game unless you're 100% sure you're going to get the call. Refs will typically allow you to be physical, but when a player sets up for a charge and contact is made, they are forced to call it one way or the other.
Funny thing is he could have sent that shite into the stands pretty easily. Had the time and the dude telegraphed exactly where he was going. I think kids are taught to set up for a charge way too often. I'd say over half the time it's called the other way, and some of the other times it's called incorrectly in their favor.
Here's the full game. Play occurs at 1:31. LINK

I was watching, and it was the correct call. You can argue he should've swallowed the whistle, but if it's a foul, it was a block. Heel on the restricted area clearly.

I've been defending Avery, but if we can't win 3 of our last 9 (including Miss State and a conference tournament game), that'd be an indefensible collapse.

We moved up a little in Lunardi’s bracket. We were the last 9 seed and now we moved up to the second 9 seed

Me too (sort of), but yes it is.
Like I said a few pages back : I expect ups and downs from this team. There is zero excuse for this team to miss the NCAAT, though. The first is acceptable. The second is not.

Saturday may be the most important home basketball game since the early to mid 2000s. Beat Tennessee and we add yet another high quality win to a solid resume and maybe more importantly we'd have a much clearer path to the critical 9-9 SEC record and 18th win. 18-14 and we probably still squeeze in given our SOS and 4 very high quality wins. We're a stone cold lock (probably an 8 to 10 seed) at 19-14.

Yea, it's a huge game. Really, really big for a whole lot of important reasons.

Man, Minnesota fricking sucks. Thank God we got the 3 on 5 excuse in that one....even though I think we still would have lost at 5 on 5

I've never seen them call a foul like that on something that close on the last play of the game situation. Two inches and it is a charge. The guy didn't even move, he just didn't have feet awareness
My point though is TAMU is playing better but they aren't some dominant force.

Yeah we were getting blown out when it was 5 on 5. I remember trying to watch the game on that stupid Facebook feed (cannot understand why we always seem to have a game or two that are virtually unwatchable) during the Iron Bowl. Never could get it pulled up but we were getting smoked. I think Minnesota was consistently up around 15 until everyone got ejected. I'm pretty sure we outscored them when it got to 3 on 5.
