I can agree with most of that. I know we both want the same outcome. I'm just extremely frustrated with the entire situation. I know your trying to look at things logically, and I should do the same, but damn. I just hate excuses, even though they are valid to a point. Basically, it all comes down to me being a frustrated a-hole that hates losing
I apologize for coming across like a prick. I'm just fed up

If I had to guess, I would suggest that it was motivational in nature. I expect him to resume starting shortly, with more appreciation for the talents of Herbert.

No apologies cobra...We both want the same goal and trust me I'd we were final 4 favorites I'd be disappointed too. I think Avery is right for this program in the long run and hopefully he's growing as a coach.

The NCAA just officially ruled Austin Wiley ineligible for this season, but said he will be eligible for the 2018-19 season

I don't know if they'd want him back right now anyways.

I'd been saying that our team wins or loses based on how well Petty scores, so I decided to do the numbers.

In our 10 wins, JP is averaging 14.4 ppg. In our 6 losses, he's averaging only 8.16. The 30 point outing versus AAMU bumps that winning number up, but he also had an outlier 2 point game in a win vs La Tech.

In our two conference losses, Petty has only 5 total points compared to 33 total in our conference wins.

In wins Sexton is averaging 17.9 points. In losses he's averaging 22 points, but if you take out his 40 point game against Minnesota, that drops to 18.4.

So there doesn't seem to be much difference in Sexton scoring wise between wins and losses until you look at only the games against P5 and high major (UCF, URI, BYU) opponents

In those games, Sexton is averaging only 10.5 ppg in the wins (South Carolina, TAMU, URI, BYU). In the losses (Minnesota, UCF, UGA, Vandy, Arizona, Texas), he's averaging 22 ppg. Again you can remove the 40 point outing, and he's still at 18.4 ppg.

Maybe he started shooting them underhand?

But, oddly enough, Hall has become one of Bama's best free throw shooters this year. I haven't checked the percentages, to verify, but I have more faith in him at the line than most of our guards.

Girls now 13-4, 3-1 and up to #70 in the RPI.

10-0 vs 100+
3-4 vs Top 100

Pretty good. Slow and steady but they've gone from uncompetitive in conference to a solid team. Nice to see.

Going to be tough to beat LSU there, especially with how they won @Arkansas. Hopefully they come out a little flat tomorrow. What are y'alls thoughts on the game?

Obviously if we half arse it like we did against Georgia we're screwed, but if we can full arse it like against USC, we have a shot. I just can't get past the fact that this was Johnny Jones's team last year and how much better they're playing.

Like every player in basketball that shoots sub 85% should do

I mean, he is top 5 but that's like winning an arm wrestling competition against a quadriplegic opponent

It's hard for me to say we'll win a road game until we do. Our only good performance outside of Coleman this season was beating BYU. Like I said earlier, it comes down to guys other than Sexton getting buckets. If Sexton is our only guy scoring, we'll lose.

You know what pisses me off about this team? The attitudes of our players. Look at this:

Dazon Ingram was asked if he could see himself being the type of player to come off the bench and contribute in the future.

"No. Absolutely not."

So Ingram is the prima donna of the team... That's a bit surprising. I guess less surprising when you consider some of the comments he made during his recruitment. If that's the exact question he was asked and that's exactly how he feels, I'd show him the door. That kind of attitude is a cancerous contagion.

If Ingram doesn't want to come off the bench, then he should show some consistent aggressiveness and shoot better than 19% from the 3pt line.

Loved Avery's response: "Avery Jr.'s mom isn't excited about him coming off the bench. We'll just leave it at that." Avery Jr. is no Ingram, but I'll take his play over a shite attitude any day of the week. You'd think Ingram would have learned from Shannon Hale on what that kind of attitude leads to.

Where’s this coming from? Ingram is a bit of a primma donna for the amount of time he spends on the trainer’s table, but he’s never struck me as having a bad attitude. Nonchalant and aloof at times but not selfish.

@bamahoopshype reported it on twitter and I think another Bama reporter or two posted it as well. I was shocked he said it
