Oh that just hurts my heart. Truly it does. I think I'll go cry in a corner and cut myself.

How many "great shooters" have come through the program over the last decade or so only to not be able to hit the broad side of a barn? Or be woefully inconsistent.

Seems like a lot.

I can't remember many that were supposed to be "great shooters". Gottfried mostly brought in great athletes and just let them play. Was Lacey supposed to be a great shooter? I didn't think his 3 point % in high school was that great.

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either (39%). Lacey got over-hyped because he scored a lot of points against 4A competition, which many consider the worst HS basketball division in Alabama. Rodney Cooper had a much more impressive senior year in HS. I think both Mitchell and Norris are better "shooters" than Lacey though.

Lacey can shoot. Its just different when your shooting over a 5'9 high school kid and a 6'5 athlete in college.

Not sure how true this is, but it's not a bad list of schools showing interest.

Purifoy is a great player but he's into bigger schools right now. Plenty of time to get him to Bama.

He'd be dumb to go to Bama...ijs.

During his time at Butler...they were on of the top dogs in the state of all classes. And the only 4A teams they played were area games that were required and in the state tournament. Everything else was legit 5A & 6A Huntsville/Birmingham teams and national teams.

Dude was hyped because he was beasting.

That is quite a large chunk of the schedule cap'n. I know he played well against other competition as well, but when half of your games are against cupcakes and you're a top HS player, you're stats are going to look ridiculous. Lacey got over-hyped by Bama fans...I don't see how you can deny that after seeing him play for 2 years. He's a solid collegiate player, that's it.

Austin started last year for Carver, unless it changed after the beginning of the year.

These are two full games that were played in Hawaii at the beginning of last season. Watched them both a while back, both blowouts. May go back and watch some, so I can see what Austin looks like.

That's only about 10-12 area & state games out of 30 games they played. Besides Lacey only spent 1 year in 4A, Butler was 5A previous years. Dude got all the hyped he deserved.

He's 6'5. Supposed to be a very good shooter.

This part always scares me. We've had some "very good shooters" before

I'm ready for some of those "very good at grabbing the ball and dunking on your face" type guys. Or 7'4 "block your shot to the upper deck" guy.
