Despite gaining just 206 yards and 11 first downs on offense, the Crimson Tide's special teams and defense provided a combined three touchdowns in a 35-10 victory over the Hokies of Virginia Tech.

Every game from that 2013 season makes me fricking sick to watch. We were fricking robbed of a three-peat.

It’s not a guarantee we would have beaten FSU.

No, it's not, but I still believe we were the better team.

ETA - Of course, LSU fans also feel they were better in 2011, but they're unquestionably wrong.

The Christian Jones game.

And holy punt-fest.

I don’t think we were. That FSU team had just as much if not more future NFL talent than we did. Our offense was also really sloppy in several games against some average teams that year (VT, Colorado St., Ole Miss, and MSU).

I agree with you. I don't think that a victory over FSU would've been a sure thing at all.

We had every chance in the world to put AU away, and win the west, and we more than likely would've beaten Missouri worse than AU did. But FSU probably would've exposed our weaknesses on both sides of the ball. We'll never know.

That sideline throw that AJ makes at 1:55 was a thing of beauty. The Fuller brothers made downfield throwing very difficult in this game.

I feel like we would have matched up well against FSU. Winston was a great QB that season but he wasn't as big of a threat to run as Manziel or Marshall were.

I remember thinking this has to be the worst 25 point win in football history. We really couldn't do much of anything on offense in that game. Also that long run by the VT RB was one of the most wtf moments in recent history. It just happened in a really weird spot of the game. Lol

Yeah beating FSU was no given.

The 2013 team had some bad outings.

Virginia Tech and Mississippi State were not good performances at all.

Oklahoma was also not a good effort on defense at all.

So yeah, maybe we beat FSU, maybe we don't, would have been a tough game regardless.

Derrick Henry was #21 this game.
