Yeah, I think most Auburn fans have completely forgotten the last years of Willie at Georgia. Not
much reason to their DBs will improve.

The ways of Willie under BVG were pretty darn good. It was his ways when he was on his own that weren't so great

thoughts on what is causing the bleeding. What is with the 2013 class? What is making the 2013 class so different than the 08, 09, 10, 11, and 12 classes?

After talking to ppl #Bama would be considered leader for 2014 RB Leonard Fournette. #LSU up there too and I was told not to sleep on #Texas

It doesn't take a rivals worker to already know all of that. Anyone that knows anything about St. Aug right now would know why the three teams are LSU, Bama, and Texas.

Look at it on Rivals. 4th in the SEC. But I have my own opinion of kids independent of the Recruiting sites. I'm the guy who got into it with Barry Every, I don't trust any of the sites.

I just seriously cannot take you seriously right now.

Alabama's recruiting is fine, and will be fine every year under Nick Saban. You have the #1 class on the best recruiting service, as AMM AU pointed out, 247Sports.

Leading for lf is not the important thing. We need him on campus.

Quite honestly, most LSU people feel Bama leads for Fournette but most of it comes from knowing the deck is stacked and not anything from the Fournette camp. Same reasons Bama people feel confident. It has nothing to do with his true feelings or where he is truly leaning. It's all about the deck and perception. We trail because of the long, hard, uphill climb we have to make up with the Burns/Bama connections at St. Augs. It's all speculation and perception. No one from either side knows exactly how Leonard feels about who leads. They assume to know. All that said, LSU made up a ton of ground today and will continue to the next few days. This is just the beginning battles of the war. Do like me and just sit back and let it unfold. Nothing that we, as fans, can do about the bullshite and the violations that are gonna go on during his recruitment. Messy, messy 18 months ahead. Good luck to both of our fanbases dealing with it.

Also semi related to the topic at hand, but does anyone find it weird that Auburn is landing these defensive recruits before BVG coaches a game. Even Aubies have to admit, compare Saban in 07 to BVG now and Saban had the more affluent career upon arriving at Bama with defense. He didn't set out right away landing elite defenders before even Coaching a game.

Two words: Nkemdiche, Foster

If you think the Fournette recruitment will bring something that either one of those did not, you are sadly mistaken. "Bama locks" turned into "What the frick just happened?" The Bama fans that have survived the Fosterpocalypse are hardened veterans of that cannot be phased.

Wait, you mean a great coach is landing highly rated recruits?

Say it ain't so, Tim!

Saban arrived with not much time left to throw together a 2007 recruiting class. He had a full period to throw together the 2008 class, and it turned out to be a great one. Same thing with Gene Chizik. He was hired late, and had to throw together a 2009 class in roughly 2 months. BVG arrived in Auburn right when he needed to, and him (and his assistants) have recruited lights out.

He didn't have a chance. He was hired late in the recruiting game.

Go back 5 years you didn't see Chad Jones, Torrey Davis, Cliff Matthews, Stefan Francois (guys just off the top of my head) basically the moment he set foot on campus.

And we all remember the hype Saban had when he landed. So what gives?

Even the 08 class wasn't this elite on paper (the defenders all out played their ranking)

What's weird about this class it's so lopsided on offense.

It's a good thing that championships aren't won on paper. Speaking of which, 6 defensive players out of that class will make serious amounts in the NFL.

You seem to forget that auburn recruited quite well before BVG ever arrived. Not to mention Slick Willie Martinez is a good recruiter as well.
