thats not too bad, 64% completion and 4 tds. the ints are not good, but we can win a lot of games with that.

I have to say that I am shocked both by how well Sims is doing, and how poorly Coker is doing. I'm not sure what to make of this other than the picks have to stop for both of them or we are in trouble.

The defense is usually well ahead of the offense at this point. Plus the fact that both Sims and Coker are going against the best defense they will probably see all year. The big concern, as mentioned, is the INTs. Gotta stop that, even if it is against your own in practice.

I fully expect to see both playing against WVU, with Sims starting out. If there is no obvious seperation, then we see them both again the following week. By game three, we will have a full time starter... obviously on a pretty short leash for a while.

Defense dominated in the 2009, 2011 and 2012 ADay games. Thus means nothing in all reality. The coaches don't want the QBs running the ball and if you get touched its a sack

Also Saban loves to throw more un practice then in real games. Seems like he throws 60/40 in scrimmages.

Training is suppose to build you up so the chance to avoid injury is increased, not decreased.

For all the hype Cochran gets, I don't see the results on those pro-days.

I think all of that intense training leads to our players breaking down so easily, hence the constant injuries and the need for the vast majority of Bama picks needing some type of surgery before the even play a snap in the league.

Reportedly tore it up in practice all week. One bad scrimmage folks. Sims/Coker still battling. We're gonna be fine either way.

I half way agree with you. Most of our guys have been in great shape though. I think he gets some flack because of Hubbard. I think that the guy was soo slim and couldn't put on muscle they had to put weight on him anyway they could. Or he could've been a lazy guy. We've had some guys that transformed their body pretty well like C. Upshaw.

I think he gets flack because he is extremely overrated at what he does. In college I had a S&C coach just like him, loud, motivation, player friendly and made us do hard workouts.

Hard workouts =/= smart workouts and working smart and hard is far better than just working hard.

When we have an issue with players weight, strength and durability, just look at the S&C coach.

When these kids showing up for pro-days looking crap. Again, look at the S&C coach. I'm not saying the S&C is suppose to make guys proday all-stars, but at big programs you aren't suppose to look like shite.

I think the pro day criticisms are warranted but injuries haven't been as much as an issue as some are making out this fall. We have 5 or 6 guys banged up. That's the absolute best you can hope for coming out of fall camp and 2 scrimmages. We've been very, very lucky with respect to injuries this fall compared to many other programs losing players for the season left and right. If anything Cochran deserves praise on that front.

There was a rumor on TSWSNBN from someone that has connections inside the program that Hubbard told Cochran midway through last year that he wanted to do his own conditioning. He saw how Upshaw didn't have a good 40 time, and Hubbard thought that bulking up caused that. Hubbard thought he could do things his way and obtain a better result. TIFWIW.

It is not just a Hubbard thing. Every year we have that kind of situation where players who should look much better look like shite.

Even with being out of shape they should be better represented so that isn't even an excuse either.

If he is as good as people hype him, the results would be far... FAR better. I know this personally because I had a S&C coach just like him. Works you hard, but not smart.

The results of the work isn't the same.

bottom line is NS is the best in the business and he seems to be happy with the work of our S and C coach. not sure a bunch of arm chair QB's should be so debbie downer this morning regarding our S and C coach. I guess it is the off season and we gotta bitch about something right?
