i agree. lots of those auburn recruits have been processed. they still get a lot of talented kids out of JUCO though. Moncrief is going to be a beast for them. He's probably better than Therezie.

I'm concerned about ashawn not really getting to practice this fall. Looks like hes going to be out another week, and assuming he comes back then, he has to wait that 5 day thing to wear pads again. That's basically all of the remainder of fall camp. Hopefully he can be full go by florida. Shouldn't really need him to handle the first 3 games

Actually you started this by attacking my politics in a statement not even directed at you.

We lose 10+ players to attrition each and every offseason. I'll admit that I haven't followed Auburn's attrition closely but I doubt it's more than 10 per year.

I thought it was for if you missed any significant amount of practice. If not, that's good, he will get at least a week of reps assuming he comes back

I think a couple cycles back ,they only had like 6 players from a recruiting class still on the team if I am remembering right.

This thread gives me cancer. Remember the practice threads that would have shite tons of information and relevant discussion? Good times.

You flame these fricking threads with your bullshite and ABDIW is the only example of someone who you can give who might not think you do. And if you ask him he probably does too.

I've made my efforts clear in trying to keep everyone calm and away from arguments like the one that that happened. I share similar feelings as y'all do about RJ, but there is nothing to gain by arguing. Both sides had a little fault. Time to move on to practice.

-- As mentioned above, the guests were from ESPN. The RV was parked outside and several cameras shot footage around practice for all-access coverage. On-air personalities Tom Rinaldi and Danny Kanell were spotted watching the action.

-- Freshman Shaun Dion Hamilton was running with the first group in nickel alongside Reggie Ragland.

-- Middle linebackers were working on lane discipline, presumably to combat zone-read offenses. Nick Saban said they would be installing this week and working on looks they'd see from future opponents.

-- Tight end Brian Vogler was one of the players Saban listed as banged up Tuesday, but he didn't appear to have any braces or heavy taping.

-- Saban also spoke about the defensive line Tuesday and how former starters Jarran Reed and Brandon Ivory were now on the third team. They were, in fact, in the third group through drills Wednesday. The first wave consisted of Jonathan Allen and D.J. Pettway at the ends and Korren Kirven at nose tackle.

-- Safety Geno Smith continued to watch drills after spraining his knee Saturday. Saban said he'll be out a few more practices.

-- Suspended linebacker Tim Williams remains suspended.

-- Offensive lineman Leon Brown is still in shorts and a helmet as he works through the NCAA-mandated acclimation period.

-- Saban got a little close to one-on-one thudding drills and almost got ran over by Jabriel Washington and another defensive back.

-- Quote of the day: "Where did the screwdriver come from," said defensive line coach Bo Davis when, well, a stray screwdriver landed in the middle of the drill. The question didn't appear to be answered, but a manager quickly scooped it.

What comes next

They will be back on the field at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. There were no interviews scheduled until Thursday.

is it time we start considering SDH as a possible starter in nickel? He must really be impressing the staff. Most everyone assumed Dillon Lee would be in that spot.

I don't know, we'll be in Nickel most of the time, and DePriest will be on in Nickel. Need his knowledge of the D out there directing everyone. Tough to call. He may just be getting the reps while DePriest continues to heal up.

yeah maybe so. Or SDH just brings an athleticism that none of the others offer. I mean, I didnt think coming out of HS that SDH was the same level of athlete as a guy like Ronnie Clark, but the coaches obviously are seeing something they like. I dont think TDP is very good in coverage. He's serviceable but not excellent and I could see the coaches wanting to upgrade the athleticism at that spot. Still seems a bit odd to have a true freshman in there. It's possible that the coaches are just training him there to be available if someone gets hurt, but he's taken a lot of reps with the first team lately. Maybe the coaches see more of CJ Moseley in SDH than we fans have thought. CJ was the last MLB i remember getting worked like SDH is. very interesting.

also, i believe last year SDH was recovering from a knee injury while he was still in HS. he must be back to full speed if he's working with the nickel group.

Bus Blitz is in T-Town, Saban said they've changed the QBs up this week. Now one practice Blake is the starter and Jake is the backup, and the next practice Jake is the starter and Blake is the backup. Jake will be the starter tonight. Doesn't mean he goes first in drills, but is with the 1s in 7 on 7 or 11 on 11.

Stop. Both sides. No point in it. Move on. 17 days.
