I really wish we could get tim williams back. He was crazy good rushing the edge with speed in the spring. I wonder what he did that was so much worse than the others

i would think it's probably a grades issue. Aren't summer classes still in session this week? but for some reason i thought Williams was a good student coming out of HS.

I hope reports come back that coker is the leader in the clubhouse. As well as the OL getting many different looks.

Blake Sims quote in reference to Yeldon.

i like the thought of bozeman in there at center. he would bring alot more power to the poistion, at 6'5 325. kelly has struggled his whole career to sniff 300

Yep. Kelly has added some muscle though, up to 296. Maybe more since that weigh in.

Kelly does have valuable traits though. He's athletic at the position and that works well in pass pro and our ZBS. Plus he's pretty smart. I think he's gonna have a year a lot better than the one he had last year.

Blake Sims took snaps with first-team offense, while Jacob Coker worked with second team. via @Charlie_Potter ~1st scrimmage

Was hoping they'd alternate. Working with the second team alone is a disadvantage. Would have liked it better if both worked with the 1s and the 2s. Second team OL (though it has Dom and Hill) will have trouble against a deep front 7. And TB/MH are on second team D.

Why should he be going at it with the ones if he isn't going to be the starter. It seems they want Sims ready and he needs to go against the best comp.

It's a competition. Both need reps with the ones. Both need to be ready, because I imagine both will play vs WVU.

They may have switched it up later. Saban may be doing it to see how Coker responds. Don't know. Just wanna see both get a fair chance.

Well maybe its not a competition if he didn't get any reps with the ones. Seems like if it was a competition the coaches would give each a fair chance.

It is.

Scrimmage isn't over. Could have switched it up later.

Definitely. And like I said, scrimmage isn't over. Sims of course started with the 1s. Hopefully Coker gets a series or two with em. If he doesn't, it's a "earn it/test your leadership" Saban tactic.

@CecilHurt: Pouring down at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Discussing whether to relocate back to the indoor facility for scrimmage, apparently.
