Legendary New Orleans Saints placekicker Tom Dempsey passed away due to complications from the virus. He is one of 15 people in his New Orleans retirement home to die after contracting the virus last month. Dempsey was 73.

Damn...I was at the game against Detroit in the old Tulane stadium. I was 12 years old at the time. After the game, as we were exiting through the lower level under the stadium, they were hustling Tom through there (probably to meet with reporters?) and I dodged away from my parents to try and shake his hand. He actually stopped, shook my hand, and then tousled my hair. Great guy, for sure. R.I.P. Tom, this "kid" never forgot you.
