Jerry Jones Was Talking About Sean Payton On The Radio
© Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports
For now, Jerry Jones is sticking with Mike McCarthy for 2022, but who knows what happens if that doesn't pan out this upcoming season. Either way, sounds like Jones is a big fan of Sean Payton...

Or what? What will Goodell or the NFL do to the Saints that they haven’t already done? There is no reason for the Saints to give SP away for a song. He isn’t coaching in New Orleans again and can’t go anywhere else in the NFL for a number of years. The Saints have no reason to do anything with Sean Payton unless someone is ready to pay up.

Yes, so Jerry better pay up or wait for it.

I think that SP wants to help his daughter's sports broadcasting career as much as he can, and, IMHO, Jerry Jones's Dallas Cowboys empire is a very, very fine place for her to find nice place to live and a nice career in that field. Mrs. SP will enjoy living in Dallas and SP himself will enjoy retiring there. It does seem likely that SP will be the Cowboys HC, should Mike McCarthy fail to get to the SB next season. Jerry Jones is obviously in love with SP and has been for a long time. Now, whether SP is as good as JJ thinks he is, well, that remains to be seen.

I have a feeling that the Saints will let SP go for a song because to do otherwise will step on the toes of Goodell and one of his Preferred NFL Owners. Gayle-what's-her-name had best be careful about demanding too much compensation for SP's rights - and I believe that she will be very careful about offending Jones and Goodell. Just a hunch. When you compare the Saints to the Cowboys and the relative value that they bring to the NFL, well, come on folks - Dallas stands tall compared to NOLA and it isn't close.

Yeah, that's a big "no" from me Champagne. You get what it's worth and nothing less.

Champagne - Sounds like wishful thinking from a Cowgirls fan. Not a single reason for the Saints to suck up to the Cowgirls and "Roger, Go-o d'ell". Negotiations are about hard ball, not caving before the talks start.
