Pitt is reducing its fan capacity for the 2026 football season. These plans were confirmed by Pitt athletic director Allen Greene who believes this plan will actually give the Panthers a better fan atmosphere during games...
quote:

“Prior to getting here, I’d heard about our capacity and heard about our fan experience,” Greene said Wednesday. “One of the very first things Coach (Pat) Narduzzi said was our fans, players want to run out of the stadium and feel the energy from our fans. And so creating a more intimate environment in this way allows us the opportunity to do that.”

How to kill a 'fan experience'? Play in an NFL stadium!

My dad was a student at Pitt. Saw Dorsett/Cavenaugh win a national championship his freshman year in 1976 then Marino his upper class years. Always talked fondly of Pitt Stadium on campus. Shame that old stadium was torn down for off campus BS

Yeah, this will really create the best fan experience when the average fan will no longer be able to afford a ticket.
