Indiana heasd football coach Curt Cignett took it as a chance to send a direct shot at the SEC on Tuesday...
quote:

"That was a scheduling philosophy that began before I was hired. But I did sign off on it upon being hired, before our first season," Cignetti shared during Big Ten Media Days.

"Look, here's the bottom line," he said. "We picked up an extra home game and we play nine conference games. The two best conferences in college football – any football guy that's objective will tell you – [are] the Big Ten and the SEC. 12 of the 16 SEC teams play three G5 or an FCS game. Twelve of those teams play 36 games – 29 G5 games and seven FCS games, and one less conference game."

"So we figured we'd just adopt [an] SEC scheduling philosophy. Some people don't like it. I'm more focused in on those nine conference games."

Cignetti also threw his support behind the B1G getting four automatic qualifiers in the College Football Playoff. Posing the question: "why shouldn't [we]?"

Ok, adopt an SEC scheduling philosophy. Play Tenn, Texas, LSU, Bama, UGA, Florida, Ole Miss, A&M. week in and out instead of Maryland, Purdue, Northwestern, Mich St, Iowa and Rutgers. Dude, you had like the 72nd ranked schedule in America. Playing an extra game doesn't make it harder when you don't play anybody of note in that extra game.

He talks a lot.

Hey Curt, win anything of significance and then run your mouth. Until then, you look like the punk that you truly are.

dude is always trying to talk shite. For starters he isn't correct, but what he isn't saying is that the SEC has 7 teams that have won national championships since 200, and 4 of them have won multiple titles during that time. The Big 10 has 2 teams that have won a NC in the last 35 or 40 years....2. Teams like Ole Miss and A&M are equivalent to Penn State and Wisconsin, and Oregon has never won shite. They have a HUGE drop-off after their top 2 teams.....and Indiana doesn't even play Michigan so.....

lol. Ole Miss is not on the level of Penn State. Are some of you guys serious with these hot takes. Wisconsin was a bottom feeder for decades but since the mid 90s, they’ve won league titles and won major bowls. Ole Miss had a few good seasons. TAMU has about the same number of consensus AA as Iowa. They’re not on PSU’s level and never were.

This guy thinks he has earned the cred to discuss the SECs structure after the first decent season in a 100.
Barely over 500 next year, bet.

Indiana played 1 ranked team last year, Ohio St, and got blown out by over 20 points. Who is he to talk about SOS lol? Every SEC school would trade an 8 game SEC schedule and 1 P4 they play for a 9 game Big 10 schedule. Not 1 Big 10 school would trade their 9 Big 10 game schedule for an 8 game SEC schedule and 1 power 4. Indiana was a joke.

lol. Do you really believe that every SEC schedule is harder than every big ten schedule?

Texas currently has a joke of a schedule, so that would be similar to a big 10 schedule......but are you not getting that the SEC has 7 National Championship programs this century...the Big 10 has 2. There is a difference. We have Vandy, yes, but they have Purdue, Indiana, Minn, etc....List the top 8 teams from the SEC and then list the top 8 teams from the Big 10. So to answer your question, every sec team would trade that. Hell, even Texas with their weak schedule plays @ Ohio State.

The Big Ten has won the last two titles in dominant fashion while the SEC failed to even contend for either of them with a finalist. Ohio state kicked the crap out of Texas last year and lowly Notre Dame made Georgia look like Illinois.
