I don't think he's entirely like Manziel, but he has some distraction unrelated to football that he's had to endure. In the end, I don't think he does a whole lot in the NFL. Its extremely hard to be a good QB in the NFL.

He will be exposed when he has to compete against top level talent on D, on a regular basis. B12 is flag football.

Georgia, Ohio State, TCU. Go check those teams defensive stats and come back. Just like most rookie QBs, his success will largely depend on the team he lands on. He's not good enough to go to any team and have success.
