That is amazing! The teams, like the Pelicans, who started off horribly, and are now starting to catch fire could make a run too. That would be fun to watch

And why is it an awful idea big man? Always someone to complain about a refreshing idea. I think its brilliant except no 7 game series early, until maybe the last 2 teams are left

I'm not alone in not giving a dam about watching a series including the likes of the Knicks, Hawks, Cavs, etc..The amount of time it takes to play those games would be the same as having a mini finish to the regular season with a normal regular season schedule. Then go to the playoffs like normal. I'd even be ok with cutting the 1st round to best of 5 like past years.
