For the last couple of weeks, Charles Barkley has been in talks with LIV Golf about a potential media role. On Friday, he told the New York Post that he has ended those talks and will remain with TNT's Inside The NBA...
quote:

"I want to thank Greg Norman and LIV for their interest in me,” Barkley told The Post. “I wish those guys great success and nothing but the best. But, in my best interest, and being fair to Turner — because Turner and basketball have given me every single thing in my life — It is best for me to move on and I’m staying with Turner for the rest of my TV career."

Yep. It seems to be the last vestige of what used to make sports talk great.

It is hard to tempt a man with money when he is filthy rich. Also, he knows basketball and knows diddley aboot golf.

He actually knows a lot more than you would think about golf.

When Chuck isn't doing the basketball thing, he's golfing.

I swear to god Chuck sounds like he is talking about some sweet old couple that own a mom-and-pop store that he hopes with all his heart succeeds.
Thanking them for the offer, ok. Wishing the Saudi’s great success and hoping for nothing but the best? Holy shite! This guy really is a moron. I think he just said he makes 10’s of millions of dollars every year doing the best, easiest job in the world. This fricker is so greedy he almost sold his soul and ruined his reputation to leave that and work for an organization 100% funded by an oppressive regime for a few more bucks. Unbelievable.

do you buy anything made in China??? If so, you're supporting an oppressive regime. Do you buy gas for your car??? If so, you're supporting oppressive regimes. Once you start the morality test, every company will fail.

Get the frick out of here with that nonsense. You trying to compare that to someone who is already filthy rich and beloved and has the easiest job on the planet giving all that up to take a little more money straight from the Saudi’s. Ridiculous comparison.

Stop crying. He was thanking them for the offer, that's just what you do. Why does that trigger you?

I am sure the TNT deal was renegotiated. His $20MM a year, is likely $30MM, now.

Thank goodness. Inside the NBA is the only thing that makes the NBA bearable right now.

Too bad. I wanted to hear about the churro eating big ole women of Saudi Arabia.

Why was this ever a thing anyway? Who the hell wants to hear Barkley stumble over his words during a golf tournament?

Good for Chuck. He doesn't have to kill a family member

Obviously, LIV never made an actual offer. Chuck is saving face.
