Unrequited hatred levels in rivalries around the SEC

A few years back, Sports Illustrated did a pretty extensive fan survey that polled fans of teams from all the conferences.
I checked out the Pac 10 and SEC. In the old Pac 10, every team was nicely paired off with a cross town or cross state rival with U-Dub and Oregon being an edge case. Nobody gives a shite about these rivalries outside of those states but it has a nice symmetry to it all the same.
Here's how the SEC looked in their survey:
Who is your biggest rival?
Bama fans said
Auburn - 80.2%
Tennessee - 16.7%
Arkansas fans said
LSU - 67.8%
Ole Miss - 25.6% (Must've been Houston Nutt bitterness at the time the survey was done)
Auburn fans said
Alabama - 94.5%
Georgia - 3.7%
Florida fans said
Georgia - 68.6%
Tennessee - 21.3%
LSU - 4.7%
Georgia fans said
Florida - 93.4%
Auburn - 3.8%
Kentucky fans said
Tennessee - 88.2%
Florida - 5.9%
LSU fans said
Bama - 60.5%
Florida - 15.2%
Ole Miss - 13.5%
Auburn - 6.1%
Arkansas - 2.3%
Ole Miss fans said
LSU - 74.8%
State - 24.5%
State fans said
Ole Miss - 95.7%
Bama - 3.3%
Carolina fans said
Georgia - 84.5%
Florida - 7.2%
Tennessee - 5.7%
Tennessee fans said
Bama - 50.3%
Florida - 47.2%
Vanderbilt fans said
Tennessee - 89.9%
Kentucky - 3.8%
Ole Miss - 2.5%

I didn't see a newer version of this survey. Would be cool if they did it again. Just found it interesting because of how unbalanced many of the "rivalries" are in terms of fan interest.
The Iron Bowl and the Cocktail Party were the only two that really seem to generate a dominating top of mind presence by both fanbases.
Not shocking news re: the Iron Bowl or the Cocktail Party. More noteworthy for what it says about the other so called rivalries.

These things ebb and flow. Arkansas has won three of the last six against LSU. We have lost the last six against Alabama. I dislike Alabama a lot more than LSU right now.

I didn't list all of the results for each school but I think all of the ones I omitted were all 2% or less.

your Arkansas votes will be replaced. and by aTm.
and ole miss only picked LSU to feel like one of the big boys.
Personally, over the past six years or so, id put LSU as Bamas premier rival, sans one screwed up Iron Bowl half in 2010.

I thought you might enjoy that.

Glad to see they are keeping the flames of hate for LSU burning in Oxford.
Maybe they can make a play out of "The Blind Side" for the Ole Miss football players to attend for credit.

They should've factored in ooc rivals, specifically Florida State for UF and Clemson for USC.

Very legit point.
If you find a better survey, let me know.
I know Public Policy Polling often polls residents of states and asks questions like "Who is your favorite team?" but I don't know if anybody else (besides SI) polls each fanbase to ask "Who is your biggest rival?"

Well, it's been the last game of the season ever since they joined the SEC, and often a statement game.

Rivalry isn't the best word. LSU-Alabama has been the biggest game in the west for the last few years, and before that, it was LSU-Auburn.
If anything, most of us had some animosity towards Tubberville, kinda like Saban.

This.
And the hate for Florida was residual from the 90s when they were so dominant and we were struggling to get the magic back. Beating them in '97 was definitely huge at the time. Definitely been some good battles between us and Florida since '97 but that's where it all started.
