This is a test concept for individual forums for each school...

Please keep this on the down low for now...

There are actually forums ready for each school. And there exists the ability to create OT boards for each school or other forums that the community may deem relevant or necessary.

If you can read this thread, it is because you were added to the "group" that is assigned to this board (really, all I did was go through TheRig's post on the help board and pluck out some usernames). Currently, it is a private board with access limited to the people in the group. That will change, as we are trying to work through how to police and control access at a board level. Navigation to this board will be easier if and when we decide to pull the trigger on this concept.

Any questions?

First suggestion, and this is petty:

Can the period be orange like SEC. It's the same color on the Rant (yellow) and it bothers me being white for some reason.

You're obviously an admin now, do it yourself

I just used an orange sharpie to color it in on my screen. It works really well as long as you don't scroll down

Love this idea.

My question to you Chicken would be this:

Without going into details of how you're going to handle administration of these boards, what exactly would and would not be allowed? I'm assuming you guys are working on a set of rules that would be applied to each board and it would be run similar to the Tiger Rant. Just looking for a little more insight

I'd think that in an ideal world, the discussions that we've been having in the Auburn Recruiting Thread could be placed on here, and be separate from Recruiting Talk, General SEC News, etc.

If it's something like asking a question about another team, I'd say that goes on the SEC Rant, along with general news about teams, and a separate thread on that teams specific board as well.

Flames=No Go on these boards IMO. That's what the Rant is for.

And if we have team specific OT threads, it'd be a place to learn about stuff in each town, you could have a list of places to eat, drink, things to do, etc. Kinda like that thread Rummy compiled a year ago, which I can't find to save my life.

Anything else you can think of for suggestions?

I think that would be ideal. I'm trying to think of anything off of the top of my head that concerns me but nothing strikes me at the moment.

This is coming at a very crucial moment concerning our fan base because we are quickly losing posters

I know...some of them I'm okay with losing for now. The Rant is bad, but it's seriously nowhere near as bad as it's made out to be. No one is forcing them to click and read on the shitty threads.

Ideally yeah. But each fanbase has their own "nega-tigers" (Brannigan comes to mind) so there will have to be some form of policing (I think a specific admin or 2 for each fanboard).

This would be cool. I remember Rummy's attempt but it disappeared a while back.

My question is can I (as an Auburn fan) view another team's board? Being able to view, but not post, a rival's board would be a nice feature.

Yeah that's the truth and some in our fan base are complaining way too much. It does come off as whiny.

It's not that difficult to tell which threads are started as a falme. Usually you can tell by who posted it.

It would take a lot of policing. Someone to handle TTs/CPA/Brannigan when they go on a meltdown, someone to anchor/lock threads that are unnecessary, someone to remind posters of what is and isn't allowed.

I think that you'll be able to view them, posting, I don't know. I know the Cluckster said he didn't want Favorite Team to dictate how you're able to post on a board, because so many of us tend to change team logos. I think it'd be on the admins for the forums to control that as well. Obviously, we're gonna need 1-2 for each team board, because Cluckster/Ice/Rummy/Fred/etc are all strung out with The Rant, plus all of the other boards they're in charge of as well.

All in all, I'm excited. This will make SECRant.com stand out more on it's own from TD, and bring in more traffic, which means more money

Yeah Chicken stated that he definitely would like everyone to be able to mingle throughout the boards.
