After the Cubs eliminated the Padres from the playoffs last night, the San Diego dugout were not going to let the umpires leave quietly...

very close, right at the knew and barely outside, you could argue it knicked the plate. Great pitch, you can't take that one in that situation

We're acting like this was the last pitch of the game. There were no outs, and the team was down 3-1. What did the other batters do? Maybe don't complain too much when you're down in the last inning and you don't get a close call.

Pitch wasn't close. Catcher framed the ball to the batter's knees. Good job by the catcher tho.

Baseball savant had it as a strike. That ESPN box isn't always correct.

The umps were the reason why the Padres were one of the most overhyped teams in years. Surrrre!

Why would anyone pay money to see a "sport" where some fat arse overpaid (by mlb) has a say in every single play of a game? You all deserve fricking misery
MLB wants a certain team to win. They employees they pay will lean that way if possible (in close games to have an effect). PLUS, the fat asses are humans and like to make emotional calls to hear the roar.
Its comical...same as NBA

Awesome pitch. Maybe missed by an inch but you can call that a strike. Just hard to call that a strike in 9th inning of playoffs full count.

an inch? LOL. more like 4-6. terrible call. umps are sensitive little bitches who let bullshite get in the way of calling a fair game.

if you pause it at 4 second, you can see the ball is level with his left knee. The strike zone is from the knee to the chest. That was a strike. But the hitter cannot take that in that situation, the hitter gambled and lost. He should have tried to foul that off.

Yeah that pitch was close... you gotta swing at it.. you are taught that from an early age

That pitch wasn't close for the MLB level. Sure, in 12u you always protect when it's close, but these guys are paid millions to know the strikezone. Boegarts did his job of taking a clear ball and the ump missed it.

No, that was not even remotely close lol

Lol it was at the knees watch it in slow motion ... and it's not just 12u that's any level baseball... 2 strikes knees to chest you don't take a chance because umps are human and make mistakes... if you say otherwise you haven't played much
