It was published 5ish years after The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. It's a prequel /origin story.

Read all of them chronologically last year and it's decent. Don't think The Magicians Nephew has ever really been adapted. unless the movies from years ago included some of it in the story.

I think you'll like it.

Was not expecting an imaginary friend to be one of my most hated characters ever but that book did it.

Not spoiling anything obviously but it was maybe 100 pages in and I thought I maybe knew where it was going and it was just going to be kind of basic but fun read. But the tone changes pretty sharply and it gets pretty dark.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

looked up his catalog because I couldn't remember him in virtually anything since The Wire. Never saw The Affair. He was in The Crown for 19 episodes and I can't even remember him in that for some reason. Hard to top his role in The Wire though.

I agree it is the greatest trilogy ever. Some of the best movies ever for that matter. But they definitely aren't better than the books.

Dominic West (The Wire) and Sienna Miller (American Sniper). Quite a few other familiar faces as well.

Giving off some Succession and Industry vibes but with lawyers. Only two episodes out so far but it's good enough to keep watching.

Looks like it's a little over 50% are published by women. So 90% is quite the exaggeration. But it's certainly more than it used to be.

Women dominate romance obviously and romantasy has taken off. They also write more fiction than men.

Not really sure I'd call it bothersome, women self publish more than men as well. Just tells me women are writing more so it correlates to more being published.

I read quite a bit and I could probably go the rest of my life reading books already published by men. There's no shortage of books written by men to read.

Just finished this and I highly recommend for anyone wanting a shortish standalone. One of my top reads of the year.

A FG was just as good as TD in that situation. The important thing was going up three scores.
