Update: Head coach Lane Kiffin spoke with reporters after practice on Tuesday and confirmed that Aidan Anding suffered a torn Achilles and will be out of the season.

LSU cornerback Aidan Anding suffered a torn Achilles tendon during Saturday’s scrimmage in Tiger Stadium, according to Matt Moscona.

Anding had a strong showing in the scrimmage and suffered the injury on a play in which he made a second interception of the day.

Anding, a talented corner from Grambling, La., appeared in eight games last season, with 92 special teams snaps and two tackles. He was expected to see more playing time as a backup cornerback, but he will now likely miss the upcoming season.

LSU head coach Lane Kiffin will address the media after practice on Tuesday and likely provide an update on Anding's injury. Stay tuned.

Is their practice facility near a sub station? Or surrounded by 5G towers?

Oh great. Hope he has a speedy full recovery. We certainly don't need to lose guys in the secondary.

He was tearing it up too. This sucks. That's already 2 big injuries on defense. We're thin at CB that's one position that can't sustain injuries.

Ouch, painful injury. He will be back and even better. Rehab is long and painful. Good luck.

I tore mine a couple years ago. Granted I was 40 years old at the time and not a world class athlete, but recovery sucks. Godspeed young man.
