They kept their mouths shut and didn’t disparage other people like an adult should. You could tell they were being careful with their words. They presented anyone following the search with the guy who will be in charge while professionally telling us that the Governor needs to take a seat….not grandstand, run his mouth, and go on sports shows to milk this for his image.

This was necessary. You can't go into a weekend of college football with the last things being said are about Landry. They needed to quickly get in the public eye with a point person (Verge) so they can move forward with the coaching search, which is going to garner the most attention and probably be under a microscope for the next month or so by the national media.

This is the first step to try and stop the circus that's been going on.
