According to multiple reports, LSU cornerback JK Johnson plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

The former four-star recruit from St. Louis, Mo., transferred to LSU from Ohio State after his redshirt freshman season in 2022.

He missed his sophomore season at LSU in 2023 after suffering an injury in training camp.

Johnson played in ten games this past season, recording three total tackles.

Entering the portal is kinda like getting divorced… once you do it once you’re prone to it?

I'd hate to be the guy who couldn't find playing time in our secondary... sheesh!

Our roster was at 83 as of last Wednesday. Kelly said he wanted to target 10-12 Portal guys. The SEC caps rosters at 85. We have to process roughly 10 players to make room for portal players, this is expected

When does the 100 cap take affect? I though it was this coming season.

Definitely NOT this season...at least in the SEC. Don't know if this is widespread across all conferences, but the SEC specifically said the football scholarship limit in the SEC would remain at 85 for the 2025 football season.

it's amazing how many of these top recruits don't fully pan out. This guy came from ohio st and couldn't crack the rotation even with out just above avg DBs. We've got a couple studs coming in and probably a couple from the portal. Hopefully we can get back to being DBU.

I always assumed he was more than likely our best DB. Guess not.

What’s weird is he actually started some games and played well for Ohio state as a freshman

Idk what or who I was talking about but he did not start or do anything really for the buckeyes. He only recorded a single stat for them. 1 tackle.
