Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports and Pete Thamel of ESPN have reported that the delay in Oxford is related to the university’s attempt to retain staff for the Rebels' playoff run.

Dellenger also reported that Kiffin has made it clear to Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter and chancellor Glenn Boyce that he is leaving for LSU.

College Football Writer Matt Hayes reports that the Ole Miss coaching staff will be "gutted" ahead of the playoffs.

However, Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reports that Ole Miss defensive coordinator Pete Golding is not expected to follow Lane Kiffin to LSU.

I think we got the DC part covered.

Just think, LSU goes to Oxford next year with Lane as coach. Wow this is outrageous.

Really? It happens pretty much year after year in college & pro sports.
The biggest cancer to college football is the NIL in my eyes.

Wasn’t LSU at Oxford this season? Why are they going there two years in a row?

The Ole Miss admin has handled this poorly IMO. It's a terrible situation for them but they just seemed to freeze with the tough decisions. Seems like they could at least let the assistants finish out the year and possibly put together a decent plan.

Those assistants going with CLK will need to start recruiting Monday (if not today). There’s no time for your scenario.

Ole Miss telling assistants if youre going to leave, leave now, is a peak tantrum.

Ole Miss can't allow coaches that "might" leave to continue coaching and talking to prospects. It's business and would be a huge pr fiasco if they did.
