SMU announced Thursday that its future matchup against LSU on Saturday, September 1, 2029, will be played at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

The matchup was previously announced in 2025 as a "two-game home-and-home series."

LSU will host SMU at Tiger Stadium on Sept. 2, 2028.

The Tigers are 4-0 at AT&T Stadium with wins against Texas A&M, Oregon, TCU, and Miami.

I'm so sick of these opening day games being in a different state.

It's about time, wish it was 2027. SMU stadium can't handle LSU fans.

That cotton bowl and then the opener in 2011 were two amazing “back to back” Honey Badger games. He was not gonna be denied and took what he wanted.

I think it's great. It's a nice attention-getter for TV coverage.

I think it's more of a stadium size thing than anything else.

Why? Would you rather play them in their 35,000 seat on campus stadium? I wouldn't. LSU will bring 35,000 or more just to Jerry world and at SMU you would get the allotted 5,000 seats. Most likely 5,000 to 10,000 LSU fans and 25-30,000 SMU fans. We will outnumber then in Jerryworld.

Yes. Jerry world is cavernous and lifeless. I’d tailgate the boulevard and watch the Tigers at G Ford in a heartbeat. Going to watch at my buddies house now.
