Actually you do but it's "hidden". What folks don't understand is facility upgrades, coaches salaries, money for non revenue sports is funded primarily from football and basketball. Do people really think a coach getting a 5 mill raise is paid for by boosters. Nosir. This people didn't get rich giving away money. This is accounted for by raising ticket prices, parking, concessions and those "fees" and "surcharges" you see on the tickets. Yessir the taxpayers are helping to foot the bill. Anybody that says it's as cheap to go to a game today as opposed to 10- 20 years ago is lying to themselves. They haven't said but watch prices go up on certain LSU events the next year to help pay this buyout.

It does't come out of state tax money used for academic purposes. Tickets, parking, concessions, etc. are a voluntary contribution. Not the same as sales tax revenue.

So, in writing, are taxpayers the absolute backstop guaranteeing these contracts...kinda like the FDIC is to banks? Whether there is really any money there to pay it or not.

The state and taxpayers have poured millions into coaching salaries at LSU - to say otherwise is a blatant distortion of facts.

You are blatantly wrong

Even the New York Times (leftist) and New York Post (conservative) are reporting LSU using taxpayer money to pay coaches...and it's not true.

They are reporting that because our dumb Governor is inferring that every day this week, in public statements.

Jeff Landry is out of his lane on the LSU Football coaching debacle! He needs to stay in his lane and govern the state, nothing else!

The leftist elite always cry this lie --- but they never tell the truth, and they never mention that LSU football is one of only a handful of programs that actually writes a big check (donation) to the academic side.

What clown downvoted this? This is 100% accurate

You do realize that the Republican governor was the one saying this right?

Is Governor Landry a member of the "Leftist Elite?" Landry's the one inferring these things.
