LSU coach Lane Kiffin is hopeful that freshman defensive lineman Richard Anderson will make an immediate impact next season.

Kiffin spoke with reporters after practice on Tuesday and was asked about the five-star lineman from New Orleans. Here's what he had to say:
quote:

“Phenomenal prospect. This guy's going to be a great player; it's just a matter of time when that happens. I love how physical he is. I love how hard he's worked early."

“Again, these guys really are seniors in high school. Over time, we have just changed their enrollment for so many guys to come early."

"But he's doing a great job. He got a little banged up and played through it Saturday, which was good. We're really excited about him. He's very well-coached.”
Later, Kiffin added that since they are not deep at defensive line, they have "high expectations" for Anderson and the other new defensive linemen added to the roster this offseason.
