The Lane Kiffin sweepstakes is nearing an end...

Following Ole Miss' Egg Bowl victory against Mississippi State in Starkville, Kiffin made his way to Tupelo to watch his son Knox's playoff game in the 7A semifinals before returning to Oxford.

Once back at his office, Kiffin sent this tweet out on Friday night:

What will it be: Staying at Ole Miss or taking the LSU job?

They need to pass on LK. Sumrall is the guy. Better coach, cheaper price tag.

Who writes these awful headlines?

For all of you questioning his motive with that picture, you probably haven't lost your Dad. I completely understand where he is coming from.

from early childhood lsu fan here. if kiffen is trolling everyone on switching jobs, he is a legendary troll, beyond spurrier, beyond saban. he is my favorite coach if he is in fact trolling everyone.

So Kiffin lost to us last year now he has a very easy schedule and only beats us by 5. Ole Miss didn’t beat a ranked team this year and we act like he is Saban myself included. Is he really worth all of this drama?

Read the writing on the top section of the picture on the right side….. T-3 days till LSU goes down.
Is that the message?

It really does not matter. He wins whether he stays at Ole Piss or comes to LSU. Just make a decision so both sides can go on about business.

Like him or not, he is at the top of the mountain this year. The right decision for him will not please many and it very well might not be his best option. No one will know until years down the road that others too took, some succeeded, some failed initially, course corrected, so on and so on. It is called 'LIFE'!

He’s actually not at the top. A bama win keeps him from playing in the SEC championship. Meaning he has NEVER played for one! I’m not opposed to him coming down but let’s not act like we are getting a Saban type figure

As hard as it is sometimes we have to carve our own path. I learned this through trials and hard times. God has always been there with me, every step. I know the excitement and heartache he feels, but at the end of the day its between him and God. His father had his path and Lane will have his. He just needs to understand that God plan may be different from his dad's. All in all I wish him the best.

My dad was a force in business and community. Honored by his peers with awards for integrity, philanthropy and honesty. He set examples for the rest of us. I worked under him for a few years and learned so much, then I needed to get out from under his long shadow and forge my own path, but man, after he passed, there sure were times when I could have used his sage advice.

I’m sorry…..I love his Drama like he loves ours. He knows what it is. Destiny!
