But in what world are we pretending that “preventing and investigating crime” isn’t protecting the public? Your “individuals” disclaimer meaning specific protection detail isn’t what people are talking about. But preventing crime does protect the communities at large.
I have no argument with your assessment. I was merely speaking that individuals are not required to be protected at all times by police. Because police patrol your area, you are not protected from harm. It may make you feel good that police are patrolling but realistically they are not actually protecting you.
People need to be able to protect themselves first, until the police arrive and do the paperwork.
I am not being critical of law enforcement, just being realistic.
As far as the Tangi Sheriff situation, I have no dog in that hunt.

The police don’t protect you anymore. They just mostly come get the bodies now.
A lot of people don’t realize that protecting individuals is not the role of law enforcement.
Police responsibilities are enforcing laws, preventing and investigating crime, and maintaining public order to ensure the safety of the community.
They do protect dignitaries and select public officials in the scope of their duties.
Protecting each individual of the public is not their responsibility.

We flew CDG > EWR > MSY on Thursday 11/13.
Flew thru customs, quick and short line thru TSA at 1130am.
Had a TV reporter doing her newscast and looked very disappointed that everything was going smoothly.
Departure from EWR was on time

Hopefully the defense can use the Drum and the Beater Stick to help cripple the runners and increase tackles.

Enough opinionated Rangers around here that are saying they can fill the open jobs of Coach, A.D. and President.
Let’s take Negatiger applications, fill the positions and save an arse of money by making it incentive heavy based on performance.

I’m almost certain there will be clues you can pick up on.
But then again, maybe not.
Never a perfect plan.
Personally don’t have that problem. Our neighborhood houses are 115 ft from the road and each house is around 120 ft from each other.
Trick-or-treaters don’t waste there time walking here.

Screw this. How about a homeowner that feels like this is ok, simply make a stand, and if they don’t recognize the kid then don’t give them candy.
Let them identify themselves and make their own choice rather than the HOA willing their power over everyone.
My house, I choose when my guests can come to my house.

No, probably just a “home town” jury. Happens all the time.
Outside big company and city slicker lawyers having to litigate a trial outside the comfort of a large city.
Local attorney, local judge and local litigant have the advantage of a “jury of their actual peers.” The jury, attorney and judge are all friends.
In this situation the deck is many times stacked against the “outsiders”.
The large company I worked for got screwed in Point Coupee parish because of this. A very low speed contact - vehicle impact, where there were no markings of any kind where the impact occurred. Court ruled against almost every motion and over ruled most objections.
Result was an 7 digit payday for the local party for a BS “crash’.

FACT: For more than a century, U.S. Presidents have been renovating, expanding, and modernizing the White House to meet the needs of the present day.
In 1902, President Theodore Roosevelt built the West Wing — replacing expansive greenhouses constructed during the Jefferson Administration and establishing the modern day executive office wing with a “classically leaning design” — along with a colonial garden and East Terrace, which eventually became the East Wing.
In 1909, President William Howard Taft remodeled and expanded the West Wing, which included construction of the first Oval Office.
In 1913, President Woodrow Wilson demolished the colonial garden, modernizing it with a rose garden.
In 1927, President Calvin Coolidge oversaw the renovation of the upper floors and attic of the White House.
In 1929, President Herbert Hoover remodeled the West Wing, including reconstruction work in the basement level and remodeling the first floor; after a fire on Christmas Eve, the West Wing was repaired and reopened in 1930.
In 1934, President Franklin D. Roosevelt overhauled the West Wing, adding a second floor, a larger basement, and a swimming pool, and relocating the Oval Office to its current location; in 1942, President Roosevelt constructed the East Wing.
In 1948, President Harry Truman undertook a “total reconstruction” of the White House’s interior, expanding its foundation and footprint — preserving only its exterior walls.
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy constructed the modern Rose Garden.
In 1970, President Nixon converted the swimming pool into the press briefing room; in 1973, he added a bowling alley in the basement.
In 1975, President Gerald Ford installed an outdoor swimming pool on the South Grounds, financed entirely by private donations.
In 1993, President Bill Clinton undertook a restoration and refurbishment of the Executive Mansion.
In 2009, President Barack Obama resurfaced the south-grounds tennis court into a basketball court and added the White House Kitchen Garden on the South Lawn.
In 2020, President Trump and the First Lady completed a new White House tennis pavilion, refurbishing the White House Tennis Court and Grandchildren’s Garden, as well as constructing a new building.

Good variety and choices.
Crab cakes were excellent.
Pork chops grilled with a glaze was spot on.
Enjoyed the grilled vegetables and also the Crème Brûlée

LSU fans short list….
Look around this board. Every Saturday there are multiple posters on here that think they can coach better than any actual LSU coach.
Let’s get a coaching staff made up of LSU Rant posters who claim they can do better. Certainly would cost a lot less and they could use that to buy better players.
Let’s see how that works out.
Fact is, no coach will ever satisfy the LSU fan base.
Don’t know why any coach would want to come into this negative environment.
