ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit unveiled his Top 5 teams in College Football during his podcast this week, with LSU at No. 1, which is where he ranked the Tigers last week.

Kirk's Top Five:
1. LSU
2. Penn State
3. Ohio State
4. Miami
5. Georgia

Herbstreit made no changes in his Top Five from last week, but says a shakeup is coming following a big weekend of marquee matchups, "By the way, all of these are going to change next week," Herbstreit said.

Herbstreit's co-host, Joey Galloway, did not have LSU ranked in his Top 5.

That’s true. But in this case, I agree with him. LSU is not, and will not be a top 5 team after this weekend.

Kirk loves that defense and knows it’s better than all the other teams he has seen this year.
Defense wins Championships.

1-0 week to week is LSU's concentration. Next up rival OM. Kick arse defense and take names. Let the country know LSU is for real. It is put up or shut up. Nuss bus needs something to prove. Put the speedsters in and let it fly!

One of the exciting things about college football is that all of the teams are flawed. None are consistently excellent. LSU has the opportunity to win it all this year, as do a rather large number of other teams. Makes the games worth watching.

If the Tigers defense is as good as the media says, LSU will easily top Mississippi. If they don’t handle the mobile QB, it will be a dogfight. We’ll see if $2.5 million Baker has the defense ready. Mississippi defense is average, at best. Tiger offense has proven to be average at best. We shall see.

Really! Who gives a fork who’s ranked what. Keep going 1-0 every week. We are getting better and figuring it out slowly. Our dogs on the D have elite speed everywhere, play with smarts and the communication is off the charts. Damn, I hope we keep Blake Baker for a few years.

“All of these are going to change” so he thinks LSU loses this weekend

Gotta go with Galloway here. I think we're top 12, but no way have we shown (yet?) that we are top 5.

Herby hasn't seen our run game. I have little confidence in our offense. Now Nuss did look better throwing this week, but I don't trust the offense. Especially seeing how bad Clemson and UF are now.

So you think all the talk about Nuss' torso injury was all a lie. Got it.

Didnt say that. Run game is bad and yes Nuss looked better. We beat 2 bad teams, barely.
