Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was named the NFL Comeback Player of the Year on Thursday night.

The former LSU star suffered a major knee injury that ended his rookie season last year and came back this season to throw for 4,611 yards and 34 touchdowns while leading the Bengals to the Super Bowl.

Not sure how he doesn't get MVP.

MVP candidates were submitted right at the start of when Cincy started that late season push (6-1 over the last 7 games of the season I think?). Burrow was solidly in the Comeback discussion then but well behind others for MVP at that point. If they had waited til after the season to do nominations, I think he would have been in it for sure. If they wait til after the playoffs to vote, he's probably your 2021 season MVP.
