LSU interim head coach Frank Wilson spoke with the media on Monday and was asked several questions about the quarterback situation with Garrett Nussmeier and backup Michael Van Buren.

Wilson was asked straightforwardly who would start vs. Arkansas, but did not say. He did say that both Nussmeier and Van Buren would play against the Razorbacks, but didn't want to name a starter yet.

He added that Nussmeier "will be the first guy in" during practice this week.

What is the point in playing Nuss. Forget about politics do the right thing Frank.

If Coach thinks playing Nuss gives LSU a better chance of winning, that's the quarterback he will start. That is the point. He doesn't care what posters on a blog say.

Frank needs to grow a pair! Nuss needs to sit his arse on the bench. Van Buren should be named the starter. Enough is enough

All yall saying stuff like this will run for the hills when MVB has a bad game and doesnt do any better than Nuss. Don't you think a coach that's with the team every day sees who gives them the best chance to win. You think they just want to lose for fun?

If Van Buren plays like shite, so be it! I’m not running anywhere with my comment. Players get benched all the time. At this point he deserves a shot. If he shits the bed, bring Nuss back in. Nothing to lose at this point.

I don’t think either one is a whole lot better than the other. At this point, I think both should play in the rest of games this year. Hopefully Nuss can regain some draft stock and VanBuren can gain some experience for next season.

Screw Nussmeier and his draft stock

I am just for the one who doesn't call a 'time out' on the first drive!

Can someone explain to me, why in the HELL!!!!! TE Trey'Dez Green is not targeted at least 10 times a game if not more? We're in the red zone and he's not even an after thought. Maybe if he had about 5 catches he would've held on to that MVB pass.

It doesn't matter at this point.

Why? Why? Why? Just bench Nussmeir. No one wants to see him flounder around like a crippled chicken.

If nuss is a senior, I get the QB up next a lot more snaps.

Nuss is a head case. But he is probably the best "passer" when he has protection. Problem is he can't do anything in the red zone. Let's think about Johnson in the red zone too. It's too bad he hasn't had more reps. But he may be a better option (in the red zone)

Some of y’all or so damned stupid.

Why would you burn his redshirt on a lost season?

Boys and girls, this is how you don’t punch your own ticket and condemn yourself to positional coach purgatory.

Make the future of LSU a priority, forget about Nuss and look ahead and groom a quarterback for next year , Nuss experiment is over and done flip the page and go to work with next year’s quarterback
user avatar
Next year’s quarterback might not even be on the team yet

Frank should be elevated to permanent HC. Make it happen!
