Former LSU linebacker coach Blake Baker was hired last month to be Missouri's safeties coach and was promoted to defensive coordinator this week on Eli Drinkwitz's staff.

He will replace Steve Wilks who recently departed.

Baker spent one season with LSU last year but was not retained by new coach Brian Kelly.

Baker has previous defensive coordinator experience as he ran the defense at Louisiana Tech from 2015-2018 and was the defensive coordinator at Miami from 2019-2020.

Yea, I hope we did our diligence when we let him go and didn’t just ship him out for the sake of wiping the slate clean
