Brian Kelly joined the SEC Coaches Teleconference on Wednesday and was asked about linebacker Whit Weeks and how valuable he has been to the team through their first two games.

Kelly called Weeks their "top performer" and said his play will force them to make some tough decisions at the linebacker position as he needs to be on the field as much as possible.
quote:

"He's been outstanding, Kelly responded. "Clearly, he's been our top performer and has put himself in a position where it will be difficult for us to take him off the field at any time."

"That's going to prompt us to make some tough decisions relative to the linebacker position. And that's a good thing because he's forced that because of his play."

"His consistency and ability to make plays have given him the opportunity to be on the field, and he can't be in a platoon situation."

FINALLY! Move Perk to Strong Safety already as well!! Downvote away, but everywhere he’s been with several different coaches, he’s always seems out of place. Obviously he’s had some AMAZING athletic performances but it’s sporadic. Why not put him where his speed will benefit us?

It's not a tough decision. And it's a decision that should've been made long ago.

It only took 12 or so games for Kelly to realize Weeks was his best LB. The fact it took that long is a bit concerning

Stability at the linebacker leadership. Very much needed and recognized.

Yes I think he’s played great. His brother West Weeks has played well also.
