LSU coach Brian Kelly spoke with The Advocate at the SEC Spring Meetings in Destin, Fla., this week and said that Whit Weeks and Harold Perkins Jr. are in a great position heading into summer workouts and preseason practices.
quote:

Senior linebacker Harold Perkins and junior linebacker Whit Weeks both missed spring practice — Perkins while recovering from a knee injury in September against UCLA and Weeks from a broken fibula in the Texas Bowl. But now they are in a “great position” to start doing work in advance of preseason practice, Kelly said.

“Conditioning, change of direction, they're clear to do all of the movements that are required by our players,” Kelly said.

The coach added that Perkins and Weeks may transition a bit slower into football activities such as summer drills, but that he expects them to be full-go by the start of preseason practice.

I just hope we can piece together a decent secondary that will allow our LBers to play aggressively.

Just for the love of God, don't tell us after the first game of the season that the team wasn't prepared again.

We got the 2 best linebackers in the country. We got all the tools we need this year...NC or bust.

If this season goes like we expect, we could actually see two Top 10 drafted LB's. I excited about the guys we signed out of the portal, but I'm more excited about the players we have coming back. If we get continuity and everybody on the same page, there's no reason for us not to make the playoffs. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!

Are any of thee guys actually rated as Top 10 prospects for the 2026 NFL draft by a credible source or are you just wishing it into existence? I haven’t heard that at all.

Wishing? LSU brought in 18 players at about every position...except linebacker (not one). If you don't know the potential of Weeks and Perkins, then you evidently don't follow LSU football very closely

Two elite playmakers who will make a difference this season. I'm excited about the potential of this defense. The Clemson game will be a great starting point. Clemson will depend primarily on their passing game (like last year) and may not be able to deal with Baker's blitz packages coming from all directions. Not to mention the push up the middle
