New LSU defensive line coach Bo Davis extended an offer to JUCO defensive lineman Jalil Muhammad this week.

The 6-3 280-pounder from Fairburn, Ga., was a JUCO All-American this past season at Garden City C.C. (Garden City, KS), registering 43 tackles, 15 TFLs, and nine sacks.

Potentially adding Muhammad to the roster this summer would help depth issues on LSU's interior defensive line.

A 280 DT? That's lighter than anybody we had at the DT position last year. And the ones who were close to that weight didn't play. He needs to add 30 to 40 lbs.

Once he gets down to Louisiana we will pump gumbo through his veins to get another 30lbs on him. Don't worry... Heck, he will gain 10lbs once he lands in Louisiana on the tarmac.

Coach Bo must e an impressive talker, the 3 kids from Texas all posted how blessed they were after receiving an offer from us and it all started with a GREAT TALK between them and Coach Bo. Like I’ve said before, Coach Bo must be an incredible pitch man baws!!

I think all recruiters nowadays have to intrinsically have the "gift of gab". Ya know, those folks who never met a stranger? Can't teach that for the most part I don't think.

I hope this works out for the kid and lsu. What a cool experience to be at juco level and then receive a call for a likely starting position at a huge SEC school. must have been special for him.
