LSU Offers Dual-Threat Quarterback Lindsey Scott From Zachary, LA

Three-star dual-threat quarterback Lindsey Scott from Zachary, LA (Zachary HS) announced on Twitter Tuesday that he has received an offer from LSU.

The offer reportedly came from offensive coordinator Cam Cameron who visited Scott on Tuesday.

Scott, 5-11, 205-pound prospect from Zachary HS was originally committed to Syracuse but decommitted on January 17. The talented QB lead his team to a state championship this past season and recently named Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year. Per SECCountry:

Scott lifted Zachary High School (La.) to a Class 5A state championship last month. The nation’s No. 28 dual-threat quarterback, Scott accounted for more than 5,000 total yards and 61 touchdowns his senior campaign. Scott passed for more than 3,000 yards and 33 touchdowns, and also ran for nearly 2,000 yards and another 28 scores.

Brees is 6'0 and possibly wasn't even that tall when he entered college. Russell Wilson is 5'11. Aaron Murray was 6'0.

You know what these guys had in common? They played in heavy passing offenses and pro style offenses and did more than fine I might add.

Scott is very cerebral and has excellent athletic gifts.

I still hope we go to power running spread if we get him and Narcisse. It's the logical option.

The biggest knock on him is his height. Listing him at 5'11" is being generous. The kid's a player, no doubt, but it'll be interesting to see how he can compete against SEC-level competition.

Great quickness, nice release, good arm and solid accuracy - none which will matter after Les and Cam have scrambled his brain. And yeah, I could definitely see them turning him into RS 2.0, because all they see are NFL formulas, and this team is just a pro farm team to them.

People on here who have not seen him have no idea of his talent. He is at home in the pocket. He is classified as a dual threat because his offense he ran in HS called for him to run the ball and the read/option. He has a good grasp of the passing game and throws over the middle very well. In his HS career he has thrown just about every conceivable pass route you can think of...

I hope he gets a fair chance. I have had enough of players that don't seem to have the ability to grasp the complexities of playing the game at the speed they have to in college
