Head coach Ed Orgeron and new defensive line coach Dennis Johnson were in Plaquemine, LA on Tuesday to visit with LSU defensive tackle commit Nelson Jenkins.

The staff at Plaquemine High were excited to see Coach O.

Jenkins originally committed to LSU on February 16 choosing the Tigers over offers from Florida, Alabama, Kansas, and others. He is rated a four-star prospect by ESPN.

Love it! Quality in the trenches! Building a team one brick at a time! I bet no other HC is logging as much time on the road and through the air as much as O! Keep getting stronger!

You can tell the man loves to recruit for LSU. I think that will eventually get the attention of not only LA coaches and recruits but OOS coaches and kids as well. If this man has any kind of national success, that's arse. That's the only thing other coaches have on him at this time is their success over his so if he can even those odds, there won't be many out there that could match him, and at that point they will just seem desperate to counter the LSU success. Many kids grow up watching and loving LSU the brand, especially on defense and as a running school. All LSU needs to do is somehow find a balanced attack, an offense to jive with that known defense and the recruiting will pick up.
