LSU received a massive commitment on Thursday by landing five-star athlete Lamar Brown from Baton Rouge.

The 6-4, 285-pound lineman from University Lab can play on both offensive and defensive line, but will likely end up playing on the D-Line for the Tigers.

Brown is rated the No. 1 player in Louisiana and the No. 5 overall player in the country.

He chose the Tigers over Miami, Texas, and Texas A&M.

Brown is LSU's 15th commitment for 2026 and the third five-star recruit in the class.

Alabama will get a commitment from a backup punter and that punter will become the new ESPN #1 ranked player, unfortunately.

Will he play Oline or Dline? Seems too fast to play Oline. He'd be a next Glenn Dorsey.

I was so faked out. He announced July 1st on Twitter that he was setting his commitment date for July 10th. July 2nd, he posted a pic of him in all out A&M pads, helmet, etc. July 3rd, he did same for Texas. He never posted pic of him in LSU gear or anything else up until announcement.

Brown's about to have to be on high alert from family and friends. He's about to have dozens of family and friends come to him asking for money. His family probably has the expectation that he's going to slide them 6 figures. Has to be tough being an 17 or 18 year old and having your parents guilt trip you into giving them 6 figures and maintaining a "No, I earned this. It's mine."

I envy the cash he gets, but do not the pressure family and friends will put on him to pay them for simply being family and friends.
