Five-star center Chris Cenac announced his commitment to Houston on Tuesday over LSU, Kentucky, and others.

Cenac grew up in New Orleans and attended Newman High School School but transferred to Link Academy in Branson, Missouri, after his junior year.

The 6-10 230 pounder is rated the No. 1 center for the class of 2025 and the No. 6 overall player in the country, according to 247 Sports.

I see a few people didn’t know UH has been solid and historically better (google Phi Slama Jama) than LSU.

It’s not over. Just depends on how much the benevolent Gordon McKernan is willing to spend.

Historically better at paying players. College basketball was a very dirty business without NIL.

lol, Gordon isn’t outspending Tillman Fertitta.

Most people here don't get that Gordon prob makes 4 mil a year. Where as Fertita makes prob a hundred mil a year, and Oregon Nike makes billions a year. Cane's founder is only way we have any way to compete with big guys

I told my BIL that we have to eventually land some of these big time in state players who only come along every so often to compete for titles.
Houston has deep pockets tho.

If he truly wants to play somewhere else, congrats to the young man for committing to that team. If it is only the dollars that lured him in, then the Tigers Abe better off without him.

We now know who had the biggest NIL bag. It’s easy to follow the money.

It only takes one good recruiting class to turn a program around. Last years class was ranked 13th overall and is already paying dividends on the court. The current class is ranked 13th, but if we could have added Cenac it would have jumped up to a top 10, possibly top 5 class. That would have closed the gap signifacantly.
