Multiple sources have reported that LSU outfielder Ashton Larson has entered his name into the transfer portal.

Larson, a sophomore from Overland Park, Kan., played in 53 games with 141 at-bats as a freshman last season, but his numbers dropped this season with 34 game appearances and 39 at-bats due to LSU's crowded outfield.

Saw that coming. He was injured most of this past year. Could not run but the bat worked when needed. Somebody is getting a very good player.

Stanfield has a year of eligibility left but is draft eligible. It is expected that he will stay. He’s an extremely important leader in the clubhouse. Fine young man and a solid player.

He will be missed. So sorry to see him go. I'm appreciative of LSU's success, but I miss the days when (at least from the outside, it seemed) the player was loyal to the school and vice versa.

The Portal and NIL has nixed loyalty from players and the schools. Loyalty should not be in anyone’s vocabulary these days.

Just bad timing. Probably the best decision for him and his future. I wish him the best but it's very unlikely he was going to start next year with Curiel, Brown and Stanfield

I wish him the best-of-luck. Took his lack of playing time like a man, even though you know it had to be tough on him.

It goes to show how much LSU's 2024 team lost from the 2023 team when there were multiple guys starting in 2024 who didn't start this year. Jay worked miracles with the roster this year.
