Daisy Garcia, Female Coach Makes History In Texas High School Football
© Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports
Daisy Garcia is set to become the first woman to serve as a Texas high school football head coach at Runge High School, per The Spun...
quote:

Runge is a small town of just over 1,000 people about 70 miles southwest of San Antonio. The Runge Yellowjackets play in Texas’ Class 2A Division II, the smallest division in the state that still plays 11-on-11 football. Given the school’s size, there are obvious challenges to leading a team, but Garcia is stepping up.

Stephen Davis was promoted to head coach from defensive coordinator in 2020, and led the team to a 5-4 record and a trip to the state playoffs. He resigned in May, and the school is still looking to find a new athletic director as well as head coach.

Who fricking cares. Guess what, if you are a great coach I don’t care what sex, color, whatever you are. All I give a shite about is are you a good coach and good human being.

Good for her. Doesn't seem like she's trying to make a statement, just helping kids.

Not entirely accurate headline, but still a great story. This lady seems so genuine and just wants what is best for her program. Hope she does get the opportunity to serve as HC in a few weeks
