We kayak fished for sharks for years out of Galveston and High Island. The sharks are only 3-8 ft long and it's a blast. Not once did we have any potential accidents or issues. Everyone should give it a shot. You'd have to have a great white, mako or other breaching type of shark seriously target your kayak to attempt to flip you and that just doesn't happen in those areas.
