Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn announced Tuesday that defensive back Stephen Roberts has been suspended for the season opener this Saturday against Clemson.

Roberts was arrested last Wednesday night and charged with attempting to elude an officer and for possessing a firearm without a license.

Roberts appeared in all 13 games in 2015 with four starts.
