The Arkansas community received devastating news on Wednesday night. Longtime sports reporter Bob Holt passed away at the age of 65.

Holt has been covering the Arkansas Razorbacks since 1981. He's regarded as one of the best in the business when it comes to in-depth reporting. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette beat writer was a member of the Football Writers Association of America. Not only did he have a respected voice in the world of college football, he was an eligible voter for the AP Top 25 basketball poll.

He was a good one. In fact, one of the few who kept Razorback fans in reality when others, like Wally Hall, waved red pom-poms all the time.
