U.S. Senator Reveals The Old Advice He Gave Nick Saban When Deciding To Leave The Dolphins
Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports
In a recent interview with On3.com, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin reflected on his childhood friend, Nick Saban, and his infamous decision to leave the Miami Dolphins in 2007 to join Alabama...
quote:

“I said, ‘Buddy, I love you, and I’m telling you. You weren’t raised to coach somebody that was playing for money,’” Manchin said. “‘You were raised basically to be a builder of men. That’s what your dad did. That’s all you ever saw in your whole life growing up. Whether you know it or not, that’s who you are.’”

Miami was too large to be able to control the media, which Lil Nicki commands. However, he is the GOAT.

Larry, you can't say "breast" anymore. It's "chest".

"...builder of men". Joe just triggered his entire party with that one.

He meant to say "builder of non-birthing persons".

Larry, The "Old Advice He Gave To Saban" was not "When Deciding To Leave The Dolphins". It was when Saban was considering leaving LSU. Manchin also noted Nick "screwed LSU over in the process. .......................... and the rest of the story ..... "Two years later, Saban called Manchin again. “Hey, Joe,” he said, “I think this thing at Alabama might work out.” “Well, buddy,” Manchin said, “look at it this way. You can’t go back to Michigan. Louisiana’s off the charts too. You screwed them over. And I think Florida’s out, too. But we’ve still got 47 other states.”

The worst timeline is the one where Paul Finebaum doesn't piss off Rich Rod's wife, and Saban takes the vacancy at WVU. It can't be understated how different cfb would be right now
