On Wednesday, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer announced the promotions of defensive line coach Freddie Roach, who will hold the title of associate head coach, and running back coach Robert Gillespie, who has been named assistant head coach.

Roach has been at Alabama since 2020 while Gillespie has been with the Tide since 2021. Per Alabama:

"After meeting both of these guys, it was very clear to me that keeping Freddie and G as part of the staff was going to be important to our success," DeBoer said. "These guys have great relationships with our players, are outstanding recruiters and have proven to be some of the best coaches in the country."
