During a recent appearance on "The Joel Klatt Show," Nick Saban was still a bit upset that his team wasn't in the College Football Playoff this past season. Colin Cowherd saw that quote and fired back at Saban during his Tuesday show...

where did this "clap back" nonsense start? It's a ridiculous phrase - stop using it.

Saban always thinks his teams automatically deserve a place in the CFP regardless of their record. The problem is that the Elephants didn't deserve a place in the CFP because there were better teams that deserved to be ahead of them.

And most years they do deserve a spot. You say there were better teams, there were teams with better records but were they better teams? Georgia is the only team that is a definite yes to that question, the rest have question marks. Only once in 16 years (2007) has Alabama not been in the equation for the BCS or playoffs late in the season, why wouldn't he think it?

One of the few times I have agreed with a Cohwerd take. Bama didn't deserve a spot and an expanded playoffs will only increase the crying. The BCS formula was very close to right. They should have kept it with the expansion to 4 teams. Odds and who is favored are for betting purposes. You still have to play the games.

If Bama was one of the top 4 teams, they would not have lost to LSU and UT. He needs to stop crying.

Saban is correct. Either the CFP picks the 4 best teams, or it doesn't. There's no in between.

How do you know who the best 4 teams are?

And the Alabama Elephants were not selected so they were not one of the best four teams. Your record says who you are!
