With their starting QB and two best RBs out with injuries. Gratz.

If you could just cut out the 250 or so times you go full retard in any given day, you could be a solid poster.

That post is akin to when Bundy lists some obscure fact about Brent Schaeffer from 2006 or something.

We're talking about success in the Ole Miss sense of the word.

I was more or less paid to follow college football closely for a few years back then.

think 9 is very possible. I think they win their home games - including Auburn.

10 would mean beating Ole Miss, LSU or Bama on the road. All tough. 11 would mean winning two of those and if they got to 11, they probably deserve a playoff bid despite their pedigree as a cellar dweller.

Assuming they win their four non-conference games, and I don't see why they won't.

Then assume they win their home SEC games, with only Auburn being a tossup.

Assume they beat Kentucky on the road. That's 9.

They have

at LSU
at Bama
at Ole Miss

They could win 0, 1, or 2 of those. If they win 2 and take care of business where they should, they will be 11-1 and quite possibly in Atlanta. Do they have to win the SEC Championship to make the playoff, or could they sneak in at 11-2 with wins over Auburn, LSU and say a top 15 Ole Miss?

They are much more likely to beat Ole Miss than Auburn.

Did Rosebowl give you free tractor rides?

What sucked about that gig is towards the end, Ole Miss was so terrible that I knew more about several other programs than my own. I really couldn't tell you much about our 2011 season other than we had a record setting defense.....in the bad sense of that phrase.

Just bc Mullen hasn't beaten good teams in the past doesn't mean he won't do it in the future... I agree it's a trend, but those get broken every year in college football

Never said he wouldn't. Just said I won't buy a preseason expectation of 10 wins and playoff appearance until he gets over that small hump.

MSU will be very good this year.

Heavily agreed.

if not, Mullen will never compete in the west

Also agreed, but part of me feels this way about OM over the next two seasons.

it's set up well for them.

Very well. I think they have OM, Bama, and LSU away? If they can win all their home games, that's a 9 win season...at worst. Setup very nice. I think they can win 10 games...I'm just not going to buy into all the preseason hype, but that's just my personal hate for preseason hype in general. I think the Egg bowl could be two 9 win teams. Should be a fun season.

Auburn will not beat MSU in Starkville this year. And if Ole Miss can beat Auburn and/or LSU, the Egg Bowl could really be for Atlanta this year.

Key games in Egg Bowl Apocalypse:

MSU at LSU
Auburn at MSU
MSU at Bama

Ole Miss at LSU
Auburn at Ole Miss
Alabama at Ole Miss

if one team wins 2 of 3 in the above groups and the other wins one of 3, Egg Bowl could very well be for SEC West Championship.
