Tell Bull Connor or anyone who lived in Birmingham in the early sixties. Do yourself a favor and leave it to a conversation about Basketball.

This is why they allow guns in Coleman Coliseum:

I would be afraid to sit in the upper level without a flashlight.

Is it going to be status quo with a new coaching hire ?

Actually the status quo for Alabama in hiring top rated younger coaches has been pretty high.

They've hired Grant (who was the hottest young coach in the country) and Gottfried (who had moved from NCAA title staff at UCLA to Murray St where he was coming off a 30 win season) in their last 2 searches.

Certainly, neither of those brought them to the consistent level that CM Newton and Wimp Sanderson had the program in the 70s- early 90s.

Of course, they're not getting Izzo or Calipari and almost everyone beneath that level is a gamble.

The problem, though, has hardly been an inability to attract the best younger coaches but simply that it's a crapshoot to hire anyone aside from the handful of coaches that are above Alabama's capacity (besides I suppose the Pearl, Eustachy types with a lot of skeletons in the closet which I don't really see the AD going after).

Do they at least warn you before you purchase those seats? How does a brand new stadium end up with seats like that?

I'm glad Irons Puppet has figured out what is wrong with the Alabama basketball program for us. It's not the coaching. We just need better lighting. Should be an easy fix. Thanks man!

Oh no, the can of worms, the lid. Keep going and have plenty of Kleenex ready for Jones.

the bammers in this thread really are delusional. bruce pearl went to the ncaa tournament all six years at tennessee and 2 of 3 years at Milwaukee Wisconsin. no bama basketball coach has that record of success. he also already has a top 12 or 15 recruiting class coming in next year. bammer did not get even one recruit that was wanted by pearl

Serious question, what is wrong with Coleman? I live in T Town, go to half a dozen games a year and it seams fine to me. What does a state of the art facility have that Coleman doesn't?

The "upper level" seems way too far from the court.

Brucey can't win without cheating, everybody knows that. He's really gonna have to ramp it up at such a dismal program as Auburn.

It's not a perfect venue but it has everything a recruit could want and when we are winning it sells out 15,000 seats which is all that matters.

Was pretty confident this thread was going to be terrible. It was, but this little gem on the first page.

I may read some of your other posts after you finish high school.
